I think I’ve been to Capri three times now and honestly - yes, it’s full of North Americans, and yes, it’s expensive, but it’s still one of the most undeniably beautiful places I’ve ever been. Everything about it feels rich and luxurious, even the sea.

I do actually have a funny story from my most recent trip in 2024. Was anyone else there the weekend that a pipe burst and the entire island ran out of water for the day? I know Paige DeSorbo was because she talked about it on her podcast. My boyfriend and I had literally just started dating, and let me tell you - sharing a hotel room with no running water is a real test to your relationship.

Thankfully, we had an unspoken agreement that neither of us would be using the toilet in our room. Even better, it happened on the same day we rented a boat to Nerano, so we managed to avoid the chaos for most of the day. At one point, my boyfriend had to wash my hair in the sink using 2L bottles of water. Truly a five-star experience but somehow, it made us love the island even more.

Here are all of my recommendations and favourite places.

APERITIVO

For those of you who don’t know, aperitivo is the Italian pre-dinner ritual: drinks plus light snacks meant to stimulate the appetite before dinner (aka the greatest part of an Italian holiday). I have some incredible hotel bar recommendations below, but I would also suggest aperitivo at any of the casual places in the Piazzetta. It’s so much fun and glamorous. I would aim for around 8:30PM and dinner at 9:30PM or 10PM.

Punta Tragara | One of the best aperitivos I've had anywhere. The terrace looks straight out over the Faraglioni and the light at that hour is something else. We happened to be there during a Bvlgari pop up event so I spent the whole time trying on jewellery, drinking cocktails and eating the snacks they brought us. What more could you ask for?

Il Riccio | If you’re in Anacapri, go to the Il Riccio Lounge at Jumeirah Capri Palace. It sits right on the water and has the kind of effortless, sun-bleached glamour that Capri does better than anywhere.

Caesar Augustus | I haven’t been here yet, but I’ve heard the bar terrace has gets one of the best sunsets on the island.

Hotel La Palma | The roof terrace here is the spot for cocktails with a view over the whole town. Oetker Collection properties always get the details right and La Palma is no exception.

BEACH CLUBS

When you're in Capri, my advice is to spend your days either on a boat or at a beach club, then your evenings out for dinner in town or at a hotel restaurant.

La Fontelina | The famous beach club with the blue and white striped umbrellas that you see in everyone’s photos.

Lido del Faro | A completely different mood from La Fontelina. Lido del Faro is located in Anacapri on the other side of the island - it's calmer, less crowded, and feels like more of a local find. Plus, it’s a long open-top taxi ride which is one of the highlights of Capri.

WHERE TO EAT

Villa Verde | One of the island's great social institutions - big garden terrace, a buzzy crowd, the occasional celebrity, and long late dinners. They introduced us to Greco di Tufo wines here and we barely drank anything else for the rest of the trip.

Mare by Casa Tua | A great lunch spot - this is the Hotel La Palma’s beach club restaurant, which is very chic.

Le Grotelle | Less flashy than the restaurants in town and all the better for it. The setting is extraordinary - it sits beside the Natural Arch and parts of the kitchen and dining room are built directly into the cave rock. Order the spaghetti alle vongole.

Ristorante Panorama Capri | Their pizzas are amazing and this is a good one to know if you want something unpretentious with a spectacular backdrop.

Aurora | A more fashionable spot in town, excellent for people-watching and less about the food.

WHERE TO SHOP

The shopping in Capri is in a league of its own. The main strip, Via Camerelle, is lined with designer boutiques - and many labels like Prada and Chanel release Capri-exclusive pieces you genuinely won't find anywhere else. Everything is beautifully displayed and the streets are gorgeous, which is an experience in itself.

Carthusia | I love buying a fragrance when I’m on holiday and wearing it for the entire trip. Afterwards, every time I smell it, I feel like I’m transported straight back there. Carthusia is the official perfume house on the island of Capri, known for elegant Mediterranean fragrances that feel airy, natural, and distinctly “Italian Summer.” I have the Via Camerelle and it’s to die for.

Canfora | For an iconic pair of handmade sandals.

WHAT TO DO

Rent a boat | We chartered a boat for a full day and they took us to Nerano for lunch at Lo Scogglio then we cruised around the island and they took us to some amazing swimming spots. We loved it. Usually you can do this directly through your hotel but we found one quite a bit cheaper elsewhere and it was perfect.

I was in Provence over Easter long weekend and honestly we were so lucky with the weather - it truly felt like Summer. I was so excited to finally wear Spring dresses, sip my first rosé piscine of the year and eat all of my favourite Provençal dishes. Every time I come here, I’m reminded of how delicious and fresh all of the local food is (I could talk about the tomatoes forever).

This trip inspired me to curate a new edit of my favourite places (hotels, villages, restaurants and shops) from both this trip and previous trips which I’ll continue to add to. As always, please feel free to message me with any questions.

LORGUES

Market Day: Tuesday

L'Estellan | I love this restaurant. It’s a short walk from the village, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves with only a few tables. Menu changes daily.

Le Grillon | a buzzy brasserie in the middle of town (a friend and I drank way too much rosé here one night lol). Accompany any dish with their frites of course.

Chateau de Berne | one of my favourite places in the South of France. As soon as you arrive, it makes you want to drop everything in your life and move to Provence. Berne is a five star luxury estate with rooms, villas, a vineyard and multiple restaurants including one with a Michelin star. I’ve stayed here and have also visited just for the day - both are worth it. The lunch on their terrace at L'Olivier de Berne is incredible (specifically the grilled fish with fresh vegetables and aioli).

AIX EN PROVENCE

Restaurant Côte Cour | fantastic restaurant in Aix (from many years ago). I have followed their chef on Instagram since forever and whenever I’m researching new restaurants and I can see that he follows them - I always book it. Hasn’t let me down yet!

Chateau La Coste | is a must day trip if you are in the area. Since the winery is also an art gallery, you can self guide yourselves through the vines to each of the art pieces installed throughout the property then have lunch at one of the many restaurants. Don’t skip the wine tasting room here and I absolutely recommend leaving with a case of their white - it’s perfect for any Summer meal.

LOURMARIN

Market Day: Friday

Le Moulin de Lourmarin | The Beaumier group should sponsor me given how much I love to talk about their hotels. Le Moulin is a charming boutique hotel and restaurant set in a restored 18th-century olive mill in the picturesque village of Lourmarin. The rooms are tastefully decorated, blending Provençal character with a fresh design. It’s small, but the best in town.

Le Galiner | a beautifully restored Provençal bastide just outside the village of Lourmarin if you prefer somewhere with a little more space (I know I do). There are nine different rooms to stay, otherwise their restaurant Bacheto is fabulous.

Domain de Fontenille | if you get a sunny afternoon, I recommend booking lunch at La Cuisine d’Amélie on the terrace - order the panisse to start. We stopped here en route from Lourmarin to Gordes. After lunch, make your way to the boutique and try their olive oil that they produce on the estate. Such a nice souvenir to bring home.

BONNIEUX

Market Day: Friday

Au détour d'une Promenade | One of my favourite, curated antique stores in the village.

Les Glaces du Tinel | for ice cream.

Bistrot Francis | Local bistro recommended by ;)

Capelongue | one hundred percent my favourite of the Beaumier hotels in Provence - every detail of this property is so naturally beautiful, especially the gardens. La Bergerie is one of the two restaurants - I was just here over Easter and we an amazing lunch outside which overlooks the cliffside of Bonnieux. You must try one of their pizza’s on the sharing menu, they are to die for.

Bastide du Mourre | another of the Fontenielle collection properties in Oppède, which is about 20 minutes from Bonnieux. It’s a restored 18th-century farmhouse in the Luberon hills, where minimalist design meets Provençal tradition (very chic). The property feels intentionally unplugged - no tv’s, a focus on slow living, conversation, and long meals under olive trees.

La Bastide de Marie | La Bastide de Marie sits in the middle of its own working vineyard in the Luberon, which gives it that rare feeling of being both a hotel and a lived-in estate. It’s a little more affordable than it’s nearby neighbour Bastide du Mourre but equally as special.

GORDES

Airelles Gordes | I haven’t stayed here yet, though I have to admit I’m a little nervous that it now may be filled with a lot of North Americans (I’m allowed to say this, I am one of them). However, no one does a 5 star hotel like Airelles and this property with this view is no exception. Lunch at La Table de La Bastide is still on my list.

CRILLON LE BRAVE

Hotel Crillon le Brave | I stayed at this hotel a few years ago and even though we had shit weather - it’s still one of my forever favourite hotel stays. All you need to know is that it’s just as dreamy as the pictures you see online. Two or three nights is the perfect amount; we had dinner at their main restaurant La Table du Ventoux one night and the restaurant next door CLOVIS & BASINA for the other, which was as good if not better. They have a gorgeous cocktail bar in the hotel and bike rentals for wine tasting nearby. The biggest highlight though, was the service. They truly went above and beyond - the final touch being the homemade picnic they packed us for our drive home to Marseille. 10/10 from me!

CLOVIS & BASINA | As mentioned above, this is the other best restaurant in the village - the food, atmosphere and wine list are amazing. And it’s named after the owners two dogs! So cute.

Whilst I’ll be a Saint-Tropez girl forever, there is something about the stretch of the Côte d’Azur between Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat and Monaco that holds a different kind of magic.

What makes it special? It’s discreetly glamorous. This is old Riviera money - not flashy, but deeply luxurious. It’s more calm, more green and it makes you want to stretch the days out as long as you possibly can.

That aside, it’s also home to some of the most iconic hotels in the South of France, beautiful private estates, hidden swimming spots, and restaurants with genuinely insane views.

Paloma Beach | The best beach in Saint-Jean-Cap-Ferrat is Paloma Beach. There was a famous beach club here that I’ve been to many times, but I’ve just heard they’ve closed? Someone please tell me I’m wrong..

Fossettes Beach | The beautiful beach next to Paloma Beach.

Le Quai 28 | The best seafood in the port, recommended by my remarkably tasteful friend .

Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat | This is one of my all-time favourite hotels that I constantly daydream about. If you aren’t staying at the hotel, Club Dauphin (their beach club) is a great place for lunch. Reserve a late seating so that you can stay until they make you leave!

Anjuna Beach | For a wild lunch.

Hôtel Château de La Chèvre d’Or | I actually don’t love the village of Èze, but I will say that the bar at this hotel is a great place for champagne with a view.

Hôtel Cap-Estel | This is another one of the dreamiest hotels in the area - everything about the property is lush. I’ve only been for dinner (9PM seating of course) at Le Ficus which is their more casual restaurant and it’s fabulous. The other has a Michelin star, so even better.

Mala Beach | A gorgeous hidden beach in Cap-d’Ail. You can rent beds at one of the two beach clubs, or you can keep it simple on the sand. Make sure you get here early.

La Réserve de la Mala | The best place for lunch at Mala Beach. I always order the ceviche, french fries and at least two glasses of rosé.

La Pinede | Nice outdoor restaurant in Cap-d’Ail within walking distance from both the train station and Mala Beach.

The Maybourne Riviera | This hotel is an absolute must, with some of the best views of the entire Côte d’Azur. Again, if you’re not staying overnight it’s well worth visiting for lunch or dinner. I highly recommend a long lunch by the pool or cocktails at the bar upstairs (honestly, just do both).

La Vigie Monte-Carlo | Haven’t been to this one yet, but it’s on my list.

COYA | Ok I feel weird adding COYA to my favourites but I promise the Monte-Carlo location is so fun and the food is so good. lol

Sass Cafe | Fun late night spot in Monaco. A great place to feel young in your 30’s.

La Môme Riviera | The new beach club to The Maybourne Riviera hotel. The whole menu is fantastic and they’ve done a beautiful job with the design - it’s so chic. There is a shuttle service for guests of the hotel.

Loulou Pirate | This is my favourite Loulou out of all the locations. It’s a bit of a drive depending on where you’re staying (it’s just outside of Monaco), but it’s perfect for lunch outside or a late dinner. I want to go again with all of my gf’s - it’s such a vibe at night.

I’ve had the pleasure of visiting Cassis a handful of times, and for anyone who hasn’t been, it’s absolutely somewhere to add to your list - especially if you’re already in Marseille.

It has the feel of a charming fishing village, yet the turquoise water and dramatic limestone cliffs will completely take your breath away. Two to three nights is the perfect amount of time, and if you can, definitely plan your visit in the Summer.

WHERE TO EAT

Hotel Les Roches Blanches | This is my favourite hotel in Cassis. It has three beautiful restaurants - all great for lunch or dinner. There is Les Belles Canailles (the fanciest of the three), Le Loup Bar which is Japanese/Peruvian inspired and Rocco which is a more casual and fun Mediterranean vibe. The setting is just so special, you need to see for yourself.

La Presqu’île | Another beautiful spot for seaside dining, located closer to the calanques. The views alone make it worth a visit.

La Villa Madie | I haven’t been here yet, but this is Cassis’s three-Michelin-star restaurant. The terrace looks straight out toward the cliffs of Cap Canaille.

Chef Dimitri Droisneau focuses on elegant Mediterranean cooking, highlighting seafood and seasonal Provençal ingredients that reflect the surrounding landscape.

La Brasserie du Corton | The sister restaurant to La Villa Madie, but with a more relaxed and casual atmosphere.

La Tarte Tropezienne | I always stop here to get a box of the mini tarte tropéziennes for a treat in the car or I’ll pick up a larger one with raspberries to take home for a dessert if I’m going to someones house.

MARKET

Wednesday and Friday mornings are market days in Cassis. I have to say, I’ve been to my fair share of French markets and this one is a very good one.

You’ll find incredible local produce (never pass on the tomatoes and nectarines), beautiful linens, and stalls filled with cheeses, olives, and other Provençal specialties. You’ll leave with far more than you planned to buy.

WHERE TO STAY

Hôtel Les Roches Blanches | For a five-star experience.

Hôtel Liautaud | Best hotel if you want to stay in the centre of town. This one is charming, beautifully decorated and has a fun rooftop terrace.

WHAT TO DO

Visit the Calanques | The Calanques are one of the most magical parts of Cassis and something you absolutely cannot miss.

You can hike to several of them - there are maps with different trails depending on how long of a hike you want. I highly recommend going early in the morning because it gets extremely hot and busy later in the day.

Another option is renting a boat from Marseille. It requires a little more effort to organise, but this way you can explore multiple Calanques in one day and spend the entire afternoon out on the water.

Wine Tasting | There are so many wonderful wineries in Cassis, all within a short distance of each other. A few great ones close to town include:

• Clos Sainte Magdeleine

• Domaine du Bagnol

• Domaine du Paternal

• Domaine Bodin

The Cassis appellation is particularly known for its crisp white wines, which of course pair perfectly with seafood. The rosés are also dangerously easy to drink.

I would consider myself a very average skier (this is still being generous), but love a ski holiday. I can dress the part, I can get down a mountain, I can après-ski at an impressive level, and most importantly - I know how to tastefully curate an itinerary of the best destinations, hotels and tables to book.

So here I’ve rounded up a list of my favourite ski hotels that I’ve got my eyes locked on this year. We’re covering everything from old glamour in St Moritz to retro-chic in Val Thorens. Yes, some of these come with a steep nightly rate - but if you aren’t staying there, at least go for dinner or drinks.

Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin, Courchevel

Okay, to start things off, we have the Rosewood Courchevel. This is actually Rosewood’s first ski-destination property, which opened in December 2025 in ultra-exclusive Courchevel 1850. The interiors riff on ’60s alpine glamour, with timber, copper accents, and velvet - a vibe that’s cozy with a modern flair. There are 51 rooms, plus three private houses (apparently one of them comes with its own elevator, cinema, and art collection).

There’s only one restaurant on site, which I kind of appreciate? The daytime menu leans into Alpine classics (hello, fondue), while evenings shift into a more refined après-ski scene with curated cocktails and a wine list that rivals a Parisian bar.

L’Apaga, Megève

L’Alpaga sits just outside the storybook French ski village of Megève, blending traditional chalet charm with a quietly elegant, contemporary design that feels both authentic and effortlessly stylish.

The hotel is part of the Beaumier group (one of my favourites), a boutique European hotel collection focused on thoughtful luxury + local character. You might already know some of their other properties, like Les Roches Rouges in Saint-Raphaël plus and a few others I’ve listed below.

Megève doesn’t quite offer ski-in, ski-out in the way Courchevel does, but L’Alpaga makes getting on the slopes easy, with a shuttle to the lifts and quick access to the village.

Fouquet’s, Courchevel

I like a hotel that is both fancy and a good time, therefore this one sits firmly at the top of my Courchevel list. Fouquet’s is the alpine sibling to the iconic Paris and Manhattan addresses, and it truly delivers on all fronts (especially the location).

The design is a polished take on chalet chic: pale wood, white marble, velvet, and dramatic Alpine views that make staying in just as tempting as heading out.

There are two standout restaurants here, including Loulou Courchevel (the things I would do for their truffle pizza and an Aperol Spritz) and La Table Savoyarde for classics like charcuterie, raclette, and fondue.

Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz

Kulm Hotel is pure alpine royalty. Built in 1856 and credited with putting Winter tourism on the map (fact of the day), it’s as grand and glamorous as St. Moritz itself - think soaring ceilings, beautiful windows, and rich interiors.

The hotel has six restaurants and bars, an impressive spa and wellness space, and a perfect central location that puts the best boutiques, cafés, and après-ski energy right on your doorstep.

And for one of the most magical touches: an outdoor ice rink beside the Kulm Country Club - complimentary for guests, with rentals, a cafe and that perfect alpine backdrop. As a Canadian, no further questions are required.

Airelles, Val d’Isere

I was here in 2024 and it’s fabulous. The Airelles group truly understands luxury down to the smallest detail. This is a five-star, ski-in, ski-out hotel at the heart of Val d’Isère’s Front de Neiges, where the slopes, gondolas, and village buzz all converge. Basically, you’re in the centre of everything.

All of the restaurants are excellent but I would like to point out that one of them includes a Matsuhisa (which I love) - especially if you’re craving sushi after many days of eating cheese.

Le Fitz Roy, Val Thorens

Le Fitz Roy is one of two Beaumier properties in Val Thorens, sitting in a prime ski-in, ski-out position higher up the mountain, which explains the slightly higher price tag. While Val Thorens has a reputation for wild après-ski, Le Fitz Roy feels like a calm counterpoint.

The atmosphere is relaxed, and the interiors are filled with rich wood panels, leather accents, and plenty of cosy spots by the fire. Nothing flashy - just quietly, confidently well done.

Suvretta House, St Moritz

This hotel has been on my list for ages. Everything about it is grand. I dream about sitting in front of those big dining room windows with a Negroni after a freezing cold day of skiing.

Suvretta House is a family-run hotel that opened in 1912 and it’s the kind of place where ski legends, discreet billionaires, and well-dressed Europeans all seem to coexist.

The biggest flex? There’s a private ski lift that drops you straight onto the Corviglia slopes. This means no carrying skis (thank god), no lines, just click in and go.

Après-ski here is more martinis than DJs and I feel like the wood-panelled lounges and old fireplaces create the kind of atmosphere that makes you lose track of both time and how many drinks you’ve had.

Hôtel Le Blizzard, Val d’Isère

Hôtel Le Blizzard is a family-run hotel in the heart of Val d’Isère and you can feel it the moment you walk in. It’s not too big, not too modern, and every corner is beautifully decorated in an effortless, unfussy way. Located right in the village and a short walk from the slopes, it’s perfect for the often half-day skier (me).

Outside, there’s a heated pool and a great Clarins spa. But the real highlight is the bar, one of Val d’Isère’s most talked-about après-ski lounges - even if you’re not staying here.

Le Val Thorens, Val Thorens

Le Val Thorens is one of the resort’s most iconic hotels, and for good reason. Sitting right at the heart of the village with direct access to the slopes, it’s lively, social, and unmistakably Val Thorens. This is a hotel that leans into the energy of the resort rather than escaping it.

Inside, the look is contemporary alpine, with clean lines, warm materials, and panoramic views. The vibe is more upbeat than luxurious, but still polished - think sociable rather than serene.

The hotel is home to some of Val Thorens’ most popular dining and après-ski spots, including a brasserie and a strong bar scene for both guests and visitors. It’s not the place for total quiet, but if you want to be in the middle of the action, this is the one.

Vintage and antique shopping in France is my idea of heaven. I could spend hours browsing old china sets, crystal glassware, vintage watches, fur coats, lighting, art - you name it. Sometimes I know exactly what I’m looking for, and other times I’m just browsing to see what speaks to me.

Since I’ve been spending so much time in Paris lately, I’ve turned this into a Saturday or Sunday morning ritual - and it’s also a great way to discover new parts of the city.

Until recently, finding these markets meant scrolling endlessly through TikTok, saving random Instagram stories, and hoping I’d remember where someone mentioned a brocante (flea market) happening “this weekend.” It was charming in theory, but not exactly efficient.

Alas, I’ve discovered the best website for keeping up to date on where to find the best local brocantes - not just in Paris but all over France. You can search by postcode, date, and even by the types of items being sold.

I love a chic sporting event, and one of the best parts of living in London is that you’re never more than a two-hour flight from somewhere fabulous. Europe has an unparalleled calendar of stylish sports tournaments throughout the year, many hosted at some of the world’s most iconic venues. You don’t need to be a sports expert to appreciate (I literally know the bare minimum) - sometimes it’s just about the atmosphere, fashion, and the setting.

Ticket prices and availability vary depending on the event - Wimbledon, for instance is famously hard to secure, while others are a straightforward general admission. Naturally there is also always a VIP experience available.

My advice - do your homework, book early, make a few phone calls, and see you who meet inside! lol

Snow Polo World Cup, St. Moritz | January 23-25th, 2026

Each January, St. Moritz transforms into a Winter playground for the Snow Polo World Cup, an open-air polo tournament staged on a frozen lake with the Swiss Alps as a backdrop. It’s a blend of elite sport and Alpine glamour with snow-dusted horses, flowing champagne and a sea of guests in vintage furs. 🔗

The ICE, St. Moritz | January 30-31st, 2026

This has been on my list for years and one of my good friends who loves vintage cars has promised that he’ll attend with me next January. The ICE in St. Moritz transforms the frozen lake into a runway for Ferraris, Bentleys, and Aston Martins polished to perfection and ready to show off. Guests drink wine, wander through exhibitions and watch on-ice driving demonstrations. It’s two days of pure winter glamour and horsepower - the perfect opportunity for me to pretend I know everything about cars. 🔗

APRIL

Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters, Monaco | April 4th-12th, 2026

This is one of the ATP’s most prestigious tennis tournaments with it’s clay courts sit right on the French Riviera. The earlier in the tournament you buy tickets, the less expensive they are - whereas the later in the tournament you buy tickets, the better players you see (and more Formula 1 drivers are in the audience). It’s typically always gorgeous weather, so don’t forget to wear sunscreen! Also, make sure you dip out for lunch at the Maybourne Riviera. 🔗

MAY

Italian Open, Rome | May 6th-17th, 2026

I attended the men’s semi-finals in Rome last year and loved it. The Foro Italico where it’s held is a stunning venue with it’s monumental architecture, marble statues, and huge pine trees. Day and evening tickets are both available. The brand partnerships are also fab; we had spritzes at the St-Germain Beach Club and went home with gift bags of Rummo pastas (when in Italy!) 🔗

Roland Garros, Paris | May 24th-June 7th, 2026

The French Open (Roland Garros) kicks off as the first European Grand Slam of the year, pairing world-class tennis on iconic clay courts with the effortless style and people-watching only Paris can deliver. 🔗

JUNE

Monaco Grand Prix, Monte-Carlo | June 4th-7th, 2026

If you’re going to go to any Formula 1, make it Monaco - it’s the most fabulous and glamorous of the season. Even if you can’t get great tickets, it’s worth it to be there for the atmosphere. The yachts double as grandstands and there are VIP parties in every direction. 🔗

Loro Piana Giraglia 2026, Saint Tropez to Genoa | June 12th-20th, 2026

Originally known as the Giraglia Rolex Cup, this race is now carried forward under its new title partnership with Loro Piana, blending serious sailing with refined style - a perfect pair if you ask me! The race kicks off in Saint‑Tropez with four days of inshore racing in the glittering bay, before the 241‑mile offshore course around Corsica and ending in Genoa. 🔗

SEPTEMBER

Monza Italian Grand Prix, Italy | September 4th-6th, 2026

Likely the second most glamorous Grand Prix after Monaco - Monza is Italy’s iconic Formula 1 stage. This race is all about pure speed and style, with historic corners, roaring engines, and a sea of red Ferrari flags. 🔗

Les Voiles de Saint Tropez, Saint Tropez | September 26th-October 4th, 2026

Saint-Tropez closes its season with the famous Les Voiles de Saint-Tropez. The race brings together classic and modern yachts, competing across a series of coastal and offshore courses that highlight the bay and the open-sea stretches toward the Gulf of Saint-Tropez. Off the water, the event is just as stylish - with parties, yachtside gatherings, and the Riviera social scene making its last splash of the Summer. 🔗

It’s been a minute since I’ve been to Milan and I’ve just got back from a weekend trip with two of my girlfriends, which was everything I could ask for. I would love to tell you that we visited all of the historic sites that the city has to offer but instead we spent the majority of the weekend shopping and going to 2-3 hour lunches.

Not to compliment myself too much, but I will say that I really nailed the lunch and dinner reservations for this trip, which I’ll be sharing below. The restaurants and bars in Milan are fabulous - I did loads of my research on Substack.

I’ve left you with a short list, but a very good list.

WHAT TO WEAR

Nothing is more thrilling to me than curating outfits for a holiday based on reservations that I’ve made. You can make Milan as fancy as you want (similar to Paris), so take advantage of it! I love any opportunity to dress up and you definitely can here.

WHERE TO EAT

One thing to note is that Milan is a late city when it comes to dining - no one sits down to dinner before 8:30PM (I changed all of our reservations and pushed them back by at least an hour).

This is perfect for my friends, because no matter what time we go to dinner we WILL be the last people in the restaurant until they kick us out. I suggest going to a great hotel bar for aperitivo - then enjoy a gorgeous dinner that lasts just long enough for the staff to bring you limoncello shots and start stacking chairs in your direction.

Osteria Afrodite | You must book here for dinner, this was a 10/10. Great atmosphere with that old-school chic Italian feel to it - not an empty seat in the restaurant. The truffle pasta was one of the best I’ve ever had. We had a 9:30PM reservation which was perfect and obviously stayed until they made us leave after midnight.

Osteria Serafina | This is a sister restaurant to Osteria Afrodite which has just as many good reviews.

Il Salumaio | Perfect place for a fancy lunch when you’re taking a break from shopping. All of the pastas are delicious. Make sure you reserve a table outside.

Da Giacomo Milano | Great dinner spot that’s fancy but without being too stiff. The linguine alle vongole and the steak are amazing. There are also a few different locations that you can check out.

Trippa Milano | I hear this is the best restaurant in Milan but we didn’t book well enough in advance.

Al Baretto San Marco | Incredible restaurant in Brera which was right below our apartment. Another “fancy but not too fancy” restaurant with beautiful interiors, a traditional menu and great service.

Taverna Trastevere Milano | I love the owners of this place. They have a restaurant in London that was below my old flat which I used to frequent all the time. I hear their Milan location is even better - they have a fantastic carbonara.

APERITIVO

Bar Basso | This bar is an institution in Milan when it comes to aperitivo. It’s claim to fame is their Negroni Sbagliato which you can order in “large glass” lol. We went around 3PM on a Saturday which was questionably quiet and then when we drove past in our taxi around 9PM it was overflowing. We will be returning!

Rumore Bar at the Portrait Hotel | For aperitivo in their courtyard.

WHERE TO STAY

Casa Cipriani Milano | I haven’t stayed here yet, but I’m dying to. As many of you know Casa Cipriani is a private members club (with another location in New York), but the hotel is open to anyone. The Milan outpost is stunning - it’s set in the heart of Porta Venezia with just 15 rooms, beautifully curated interiors, and Cipriani’s signature charm where timeless design meets modern hospitality.

Casa Brera Milano | This is another swoon-worthy hotel that was actually recommended by someone at one of the restaurants we were at. It’s a new luxury-lifestyle hotel in the Brera district with buzzy rooftop pool and great view. It’s designed by the same genius behind the ultra-chic Il Sereno Lago di Como and Jumeirah Capri Palace.

When I moved to London in 2018, my best friend and I would have literally paid someone for this information - therefore it feels like my civic duty to share my list of the best pubs in London to find handsome men.

I do think that it’s important to acknowledge the initial ground work that went into this list many years ago. My friend and I (two North American expats armed with optimism) would choose a different neighbourhood each weekend and go to as many different pubs as we possibly could in an evening. If there were no potential boyfriends - say no more, we were in a taxi to the next location.

The Pelican | 45 All Saints Rd, London W11 1HE - One of the best pubs in Notting Hill that also does great cocktails. A very well-dressed crowd and a lot of tall Americans.

The Ladbroke Arms | 54 Ladbroke Rd, London W11 3NW - Another great Notting Hill pub with more of a neighbourhood vibe.

The Walmer Castle | 58 Ledbury Rd, London W11 2AJ - Always reliable.

The Westbourne | 101 Westbourne Park Villas, London W2 5ED - This pub is a little out of the way but if you get a sunny afternoon on a weekend, they have a huge outdoor area in the front.

The Audley Public House | 41-43 Mount St, London W1K 2RX - For a fancier Mayfair crowd.

The Devonshire | 17 Denman St, London W1D 7HW - You could find a boyfriend and apparently have the best Guinness in London here at the same time.

The Anglesea Arms | 15 Selwood Terrace, South Kensington, London SW7 3QG - Evenings and weekends are the best here and make sure you get a spot outside. I love a Thursday after work or Saturday afternoon.

The Hunters Moon | 86 Fulham Rd., South Kensington, London SW3 6HR - If you meet someone at Anglesea Arms and want to leave, I’d suggest going here after, it’s more quiet.

The Cadogan Arms | 298 King’s Rd, London SW3 5UG - The only pub you should be going to on Kings Road.

The Hollywood Arms | 45 Hollywood Rd, London SW10 9HX - This one’s loud and sometimes chaotic but it’s located on one of the best streets in Chelsea.

The White Horse | 1-3 Parsons Grn, London SW6 4UL - Well known staple in Parsons Green.

The Surprise | 6 Christchurch Terrace, London SW3 4AJ - Beautiful pub on a quiet corner in Chelsea. Another favourite of mine.

The Hero | 55 Shirland Rd, London W9 2JD - This has the same owners as the Pelican, which should speak for itself.

Oh my god, it took me forever to finally get this list out the door - but alas, here it is and I’m excited to share it.

Below is a collection of all of my favourite places to eat, drink and hang out in Paris. Note that this is an ongoing list that I edit and update every time I come here, so check in regularly!

WHERE TO EAT

Le Petit Lutetia | One of my favourites for both lunch or dinner. They serve a lot of traditional dishes like sole meunière, frog legs and profiteroles - I personally love their tuna tartare.

Le Bon Georges | A traditional Parisian bistro in the 9th with an impressive wine list and perfect dinner atmosphere. Put this one high on your list!

La Belle Époque | Classic Parisian brasserie and bar near Palais Royal and the Bibliothèque Nationale. This is one of my always reliable restaurants. Try to get a table outside if you can, it’s so fun to watch the city go by.

Billie | Across the street and basically the newer, cooler sibling to La Belle Époque. A great date spot with more of a fashionable and late night crowd - I had the tequila pasta which was delicious and I’ve heard the kale salad is divine.

Le Petit Chardon | Had dinner here last week, recommended by my very chic friend . It feels like the kind of neighborhood bistro you hope to stumble into on a rainy Paris evening - small tables, natural wine, seasonal plates. There’s also a cute wine bar on the corner next door.

Bistrot Paul Chêne | Located in the 16th known for having the best french fries in Paris (which I would agree). Get the steak au poivre or steak-frites.

Lafayettes | On my list for dinner the next time all of my girlfriends are in town! I’ve heard this is a very fun night out.

Jaïs | One of my favourite restaurants in Paris right now - I’ve also been to their restaurant in Ramatuelle. It has that effortless, understated-luxury vibe with a very cool crowd. The room is a little chaotic, but service is dialled in and the energy works in its favour. They serve amazing cornbread and radishes for the table, and the linguine with lime zest and trout roe is a must - I’ve ordered it twice.

Le Petit Celestin | Sister restaurant to Jaïs but more of a traditional bistrot. It’s a smaller restaurant but still great vibes none the less.

Sonnys Pizza | The best pizza I’ve had in Paris, you must order the Jane.

Donna | New wine bar on my list.

Loulou | Say what you want - I love Loulou, and on a sunny day it’s easily one of the chicest places to dine outside in Paris. It’s the perfect spot to spend a long afternoon drinking limoncello spritzes or rosé, paired with salads, fish carpaccios, and at least one of their pizzas (especially the truffle) - they’re to die for.

Maurice Cafe | Trendy cafe for matcha and breakfast sandwiches.

Leonie Bakery | The best baguette in Paris.

DUMBO | This the best burger in Paris.

Furia | Feels weird recommending a taco & wine bar in Paris but this restaurant in the Marais is seriously SO good. They don’t take reservations, but the line isn’t ever terrible and their menu changes weekly, therefore you’ve always got new dishes to try.

Bistrot de Tournelles | Still haven’t been, dying to go.

Localino | My favourite Italian spot in the 6th. They have four seats at their kitchen bar you should try to snatch. Absolutely order the mozzarella to start and you can’t go wrong with any of the pasta dishes.

Ralph’s | Very cliche but I love Ralph Lauren and their courtyard restaurant in Paris is absolutely stunning during every season. I also like to have martini’s and snacks in the bar.

Hotel Costes | A fun lunch if you’re looking or somewhere sceney.

Cherry | Vibey dinner spot in Saint Germain that feels more New York than classic Left Bank (same as Cherry in Saint Tropez). Think dark wood, martinis, velvet banquettes, pasta alla vodka, and a crowd that’s very much there to be seen.

Ojii | Amazing Japanese in Saint Germain which feels very Parisian at the same time. They have great sushi and I love the creamy soba noodle dishes.

Le Grand Cafe | If you’re at the Grand Palais, I highly recommend booking here for lunch or even for a drink at their bar. They have one of the most picturesque terraces in Paris. Worth it for the venue itself.

Bonnie | For lunch or cocktails with a view - it’s located on top floor of the SO/PARIS hotel.

WHERE TO DRINK

Les Ambassadeurs at Hotel de Crillon | Probably my favourite hotel bar in the world.

La Grande Crèmerie | Wine bar in the 6th.

Bar Hemingway at The Ritz | One of Paris’s most famous.

La Coquille d’Or at Chateau Voltaire | Moody, tucked-away bar with great martini’s.

Langosteria at Cheval Blanc | Go to the bar on the 7th floor for cocktails with the best view.

L’Avenue | A great stop after shopping on Avenue Montaigne. Skip the food, go for the drinks and people watching.

WHERE TO STAY

Hotel Balzac | This hotel was renovated and reopened in 2024. I don’t love the location but the hotel is so beautiful.

Chateau Voltaire | Effortlessly chic boutique hotel in the 1st. It gives me Chiltern Firehouse vibes in the best way.

Hotel Madame Reve | Buzzy hotel with a amazing location and even better restaurants and bar to hang out at - you need to check out the roof.

I promised to share a full city guide, but for now - I wanted to keep this post centered around shopping. Below you’ll find everywhere I went shopping this week and my favourite places to buy souvenirs in Paris.

The most important tip: Bring your passport! The best part of shopping in Paris is that on any purchase over 100 EUR you can claim a VAT refund (if you live outside of the EU). Between that and the exchange rate, my friend Danielle and I like to generalise by saying “so basically, everything is 40% off”.

La Bonne Brosse | One of my girlfriends wrote about La Bonne Brosse in a few months ago and now I don’t know how I ever lived my life without one. These are the most beautiful French hair brushes – a perfect gift for oneself or for someone else. All brushes are made in France with incredible attention to detail. Store locations are in the 1st and the 8th arrondissement.

Rubirosa’s | A beautiful store for unisex shirts.

Sezane | I love Sezane for knitwear, dresses and jewelry.

Jacquemus | I never miss a trip to the Jacquemus store on Avenue Montaigne, every bag makes me want to go on a holiday in the South of France. This weekend I went home with this cashmere dress which would have been a sin to leave behind.

Bonsoirs | The best for for bedding and towels. I got the French linen set (duvet cover, sheets & pillow cases) for my birthday this year and they’re my favourite.

The Frankie Shop | The Frankie Shop flagship store is in Paris and it’s a must visit if you’re in the Marais. The best for coats and blazers.

Citypharma | If you’re French pharmacy shopping, this one in Saint Germain has the best prices.

Sabre Paris | The perfect cutlery set in every colour and material you can think of. I also love their aperitif sets which make great gifts for people.

Vinted.fr | For those who don’t know, Vinted is a second-hand fashion marketplace where you can buy and sell clothes online. And because Paris is one of the world’s biggest fashion hubs, browsing Vinted France feels like having endless access to the best vintage and designer pieces at your fingertips. I just bought this perfect condition Gucci bag for 450 EUR and it came with the tags.

One thing to note: you do need a French shipping address to order from Vinted.fr, so keep that in mind before you fall in love with something.

Le Bon Marche | I love the beauty section at Le Bon Marche. I often will wait until I’m low on all of my cosmetics and then buy everything while I’m in Paris (enter tax refund reminder). They invited me to a Victoria Beckham Beauty event last time I was there and it was fabulous.

I also bought one of the Rouge G Collection lipsticks from Guerlain and they engraved the mirror for me - isn’t it so chic? 🔗

La Grande Epicerie de Paris | Next door to Le Bon Marche you can find La Grande Epicerie which is their food market. Everyone loves to buy butter here.

Ok, I need to talk about Hôtel Le Provençal in Hyères because this ended up being one of my favourite places I visited in France this Summer and we only had the chance to stop for lunch.

A few months ago I read about this recently re-designed hotel (I can’t remember where) and it shot straight to the top of my must-visit list. The second I saw photos, I was intrigued: the history, the architecture, the setting, and the pool which gives a very Les Roches Rouges meets Hotel Club Scannella.

The hotel is tucked away on the Giens Peninsula, a slender strip of land near Hyères, just a short boat ride from the dreamy Île de Porquerolles. (For anyone not familiar with this pocket of the Riviera, think somewhere between Toulon and Saint-Tropez). It’s a bit of a bitch to get to - but worth it.

Anyway, I’d never been to this area before and I’ll admit that when we first drove into Hyères it was not the vibe and I was ready to turn the car around. However, the moment we arrived at the hotel - I was mentally planning my return visit next Summer.

This area feels like Portofino of the South of France but without the million tourists.

The property is pure perfection—truly the definition of raw beauty. The entrance is right on the main street of the charming village, but the hotel cascades down the cliffside all the way to the rocky bluffs of the Mediterranean. There are four restaurants (a very strong selling point for me) - two in town and two closer to the sea, each giving a different vibe.

All of the restaurants were buzzy, but not crowded - and chic, but not too fancy. We had lunch at Le Barbeque, which I highly recommend. It’s a five minute walk from the town with a view that overlooks the sea. The food was 10/10 and the service was great. I had the tomato mozzarella salad, two glasses of rosé and a cigarette, my go-to on a 37 degree day.

Some of the hotel rooms were definitely still under renovation while we were there, so overall I was pleased to save the trip for next year.

What else to do in the area?

Rent a boat so that you can sail around the Île de Porquerolles, which is only a short ride away. Porquerolles is known for having some of the most spectacular beaches in all of France. Cars are forbidden on the island, therefore everyone travels by foot or by bike. You can also find fantastic restaurants, vineyards and beautiful hiking trails. Next Summer, I’ll be participating in all of the above.

To me, there is nothing quite like a solo holiday. Yes, of course I’ll never say no to a girls trip full of lol’s or spending quality time with family - but there’s something about a solo trip that literally makes me feel high. It’s the freedom to create your own itinerary, book your own dinner reservations, making spontaneous decisions, never knowing who you’re going to meet - the list goes on.

My favourite thing about a solo holiday is waking up with a shit-eating grin and thinking, “I cannot wait see what I get myself into today”.

So here I’m sharing my advice for those of you who are considering a solo trip - I promise, just do it.

Make a checklist

When I travel, I always write a checklist of absolutely everything I want to do on my trip. These can be anything - things I want to buy, restaurants I want to go to, architecture to see, doing things out of my comfort zone, general tasks like finally reading a book, etc. I jot my list on a hotel notepad or even a receipt (whatever I can find) and bring it with me everywhere I go. The goal of the trip is to cross off every single item on that list before the flight home. Trust me, there’s something so satisfying about sitting with a glass of wine, reviewing what you’ve completed so far and what’s left to tackle.

Go on dates

Honestly, I should have made this number one because is there really anything better than a holiday romance? Get out there and go on dates! Have conversations with when you’re out, send a drink to someone at another table, use a dating app, whatever. Go on the date, and if it’s magic - hold onto it and enjoy every second. If it’s awful, you never have to see them again! I’ve had dates that turned into long-term relationships, and others that ended after one drink. Either way, you’ll walk away with a great story you’ll tell long after your tan fades.

Make a playlist

Make a great playlist and play it on repeat. Those songs will forever bring you back to this trip.

Make spontaneous decisions.

In my early 20’s, my best friend and I went on a trip to the South of France where I learned the definition of “spontaneous” travel. We started our trip at the Monaco Grand Prix where we planned to stay two nights before making our way down the coast. On the first night, we met two guys from New York who we absolutely fell in love with and soon the two nights turned into five. Every morning we would wake up, wheel our suitcases to a “goodbye” brunch with our new boyfriends - then after multiple bottles of rosé and convincing us not to leave, we’d wheel our suitcases right back to our apartment saying “not today, maybe tomorrow”. I’ll spare you the rest of the details, but the trip ended with the four of us in a helicopter to Saint Tropez that we booked at 4AM.

Needless to say, this was one of the best and funniest trip that I’ve ever been on and we still talk about it today. My message: don’t be afraid to let your plans change, usually that’s when the best things happen.

Waiters give you all the attention

Dining solo can be its own kind of romance. Waiters often go out of their way to make you feel like the most important person in the room, not just someone eating alone. They’ll ask about your travels, pour your wine a little more generously, and maybe even introduce you to their friends or other people at the restaurant. By the end of the night, you’re not “alone” at all - you’re part of the story unfolding around you.

When in doubt, go to a hotel bar

If you ever find yourself in a city where you don’t quite know where to go or can’t find a place with the right vibe, just go to the bar at a five-star hotel.

Why?

1. The bartender will always give you the best recommendations of where to go in the city.

2. You’ll always get amazing service, excellent cocktails and unlimited bar snacks (I was recently at the St. Regis in Florence and the bartender prepared a gin tasting for us).

3. If someone else is sitting at a hotel bar, they’re typically in the same boat as you - therefore this is a great way to meet people.

While Nice wouldn’t be my top choice of destination on the French Riviera, I’m never disappointed when I have to stay there for a night at the beginning or end of a trip. Specifically within the last few years there have been some excellent hotels and restaurants popping up along the promenade and throughout the city - lots I have yet to try! Plus, the train gives you easy access to anywhere you want to go along the coast.

I also must say that the Nice airport is typically a very smooth and comfortable experience - and that’s coming from someone who is almost always hungover every time I’m there.

WHERE TO STAY

Hotel de Couvent | I featured this gem in my The most beautiful hotels in the South of France guide as it truly is one of the latest and greatest hotel additions to the Cote d’Azur. Perfect location, perfect atmosphere, beautiful design and an array of restaurants right at your doorstep.

Hotel Amour Nice | I stayed here shortly after it first opened and loved it (though I’m not sure my taste in hotels is exactly the same now as it was back then). The interiors have a retro vibe - definitely more “fun” than fancy, but their beach club is still a standout and the food is great.

WHERE TO EAT

Le Restaurant du Couvent | This is one of the beautiful restaurants at Hotel du Couvent. Book a table in their courtyard which is fabulous - lunch, apero or dinner.

Le Bistrot des Serruriers | Also part of Hotel du Couvent, this charming bistro deserves a mention too.

La Plage du Negresco | No surprise that this beach club is one of my top rec’s as it belongs to Hotel Negresco which is a Nice institution. They have an incredible menu: think fresh salads, burrata, raw fish bar, and make sure you get at least one lobster roll for the table.

Bar Povera | Best new cocktail bar, recommended from a friend.

Hotel Amour Nice Plage | As mentioned above, Hotel Amour Nice has a great beach club which I’d recommend for both lunch or dinner.

Restaurant Le Panier | Amazing restaurant in the old town with traditional dishes and setting.

Babel Babel | Buzzy spot along the promenade for cocktails and share plates.

Le Plongeoir | Not my favourite menu but the location and atmosphere are something everyone should experience at least once.

WHERE TO SHOP

La Compagnie de Provence | If I have the space in my suitcase, I buy all of the soaps for my house here. I also love to buy their travel hand creams, they have the most amazing scents like olive, mimosa, etc.

WHERE TO DAY TRIP

Villefranche-sur-mer | If you’re looking to get out of town for the day, I would highly recommend visiting Villefranche (I love it here even more than I love Nice). It’s a quick train ride or taxi (less than 10 minutes) and you’ll find yourself in a completely different setting. This bright-coloured seaside village is a jewel of the French Riviera - it’s more relaxed with a luxurious bay filled with yachts, seafood restaurants that line the harbour and a great beach to lay out in the sun all day.

Mougins is one of those places in the South of France that I’ve always seen on a map and never thought twice about going. Earlier this year, a new hotel opening caught my attention which led to an impromptu addition to my French vacation.

Long story short - I loved this little town and now I want vacation house here. It’s a picturesque hilltop village that oversees the Bay of Cannes known for it’s art galleries & studios, fine dining and luxurious properties. It kind of felt like Eze but without the million tourists? I’d recommend spending 2 or 3 days here (it’s quite small) - but take day trips to Cannes, Saint-Paul-de-Vence or Antibes. Having dinner in the village is the best part and market day is Friday morning.

WHERE TO STAY

Le Mas Candille | I’d been eyeing this 5-star beauty ever since I heard about the Spring 2025 re-design by architect Hugo Toro (I’m obsessed with his work). I booked it this year while it’s still fresh and - let’s be real - before the prices skyrocket.

The property is pure zen. There’s a winding path that leads you through lush gardens, and the interiors are decked out in rich colours, beautiful furniture, and luxe fabrics.

Two pools, two moods: one with a restaurant, bar, beach loungers, and tropical beats all day long; the other, a serene spa pool with fresh juices on the menu.

The restaurant for dinner is Le Tigrr, which you might know from other fancy hotels. Great if you’re craving a break from French cuisine - otherwise, I’d just go for cocktails at the bar and head into town for dinner.

Two other things:

• The breakfast is 10/10. One of the best hotel breakfasts I’ve ever had and they serve it on their beautiful terrace below the enormous pine trees.

• They have a shuttle service that will whisk you from the hotel to the village so that you don’t have to worry about trekking in heels.

WHERE TO EAT

Boheme | I found this restaurant in the Michelin guide and it was one of my favourite meals of the trip. We booked a 9PM reservation on a Tuesday which was perfect - great table outside, great atmosphere. We ordered the panisse, the ceviche and the steak and loved them all. Highly recommend. @boheme.mougins

Resto des Arts | Cozy restaurant in the village with a fab menu. Make sure you get a table outside - open for both lunch or dinner. @restodesarts

Rita | Amazing mediterranean bistro, great for lunch. @ritarestaurants

La Réserve | I haven’t been yet, but heard good things. It’s located in one of the nicest hotels in the village. @la_reserve_mlr

La Guerite | You guys, Cannes is only a 15 minute taxi from Mougins - book the 3PM lunch seating at La Guerite (!!) Obviously you have to arrange for their boat shuttle to pick you up at the port, but that’s half the fun. @la_guerite

WHERE TO SHOP

Yvonne Desautel Parfums | Don’t forget that Mougins is very close to Grasse, perfume capital of the world. Yvonne Desautel Parfums is a three-generation family perfume house with a tiny boutique located in the village. They make only make eau de parfum, home fragrances as well as custom scents & private labels. I loved this experience - I was in the boutique for almost an hour.

Maison Empereur | To me, the moment I learn something is French, I instantly classify it as being chic (this can apply to just about anything). If you’re the same and especially if you have an appreciation for home interiors & entertaining - then you will love Maison Empereur. Founded in 1827, it’s one of the oldest hardware stores in France, now transformed into a beautifully curated treasure trove of timeless goods, unique finds, and souvenir-worthy charm.

I know hardware store might not sound like a dream destination—but trust me, this place is actual heaven. The store is thoughtfully organised room by room, with everything from linen tablecloths and antique door knockers to artisanal soaps, glassware, and every kitchen accessory you didn’t know you needed.

I bought some beautiful napkins and liquor glasses but honestly if I had the space I would have brought home the entire dining section. @maisonempereur

Lulli | My boyfriend’s fancy mother told me about this store and she never lets me down when it comes to shopping (even though she hates everything I buy). This is a contemporary fashion concept store, beautifully curated with a mix of emerging and well-known designers. There are a few locations in the South of France but the Marseille store is fabulous and the ladies that work here are so nice. @lullisurlatoile

Jogging Jogging | This store is definitely way too cool for me, but I still come in here every time I’m in Marseille. The fashion is edgy, they always have sexy candles and good gifts - plus there’s a cafe and gallery that are also joined to the store. @jogging_marseille

SAPE | If you love fashion, this is the best vintage clothing boutique in Marseille. Thoughtfully curated, it mixes Saint Laurent, Dior, and Hermès with under-the-radar French and Italian designer pieces that feel truly special. The owner, Sonia Alloune, is fabulous—her eye and energy shape the entire space. @sape_marseille7

I often get asked which is my preference between Nice, Cannes and Antibes - and tbh Antibes is an easy win from me. It’s less flashy than Cannes, it’s less touristy than Nice - yet it’s rich with art, history and ports some of the most impressive yachts in the Mediterranean.

Probably an unpopular opinion, but when I go on holidays I love to go running. It’s the perfect way to kick-start the day and get a real feel for a new place. Cap d’Antibes is one of my favourite places to do this because you get to wind your way along the coast beneath the pine trees, and get a glimpse of jaw-dropping cliffside villas hidden just beyond the main roads.

Anyway, back to what we’re really interested in - here are my recommendations of fabulous places to eat, relax and explore in Antibes from Provencal markets to beach clubs & fantastic restaurants.

THE BEST BEACH CLUBS

Belles Rives | Has anyone seen that Diane Lane film called "Paris Can Wait”? If yes, this is the same hotel that they were staying at before famous road-trip love story commenced. This old riviera-chic hotel is the perfect place to have a fab lunch literally on the waters edge, or you can spend the day tanning on a sun lounger on their private pontoon. They also have a beautiful terrace for cocktails during golden hour. @bellesrives

Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel | They renovated this hotel a few years ago and it now has a very Palm Springs flair to it with it’s pastel coloured loungers and umbrellas. It’s located in one of my favourite areas in Cap d’Antibes - I recommend booking sun beds here for the day and having lunch at their restaurant BABA. @capdantibesbeachhotel

Plage Keller | Another iconic beach club and family-orchestrated Riviera institution that’s been open since 1988. They have amazing fresh seafood. @plage.keller

THE BEST RESTAURANTS

Maison de Bacon | Very stylish and contemporary restaurant in Cap d’Antibes with a terrace and rooftop that overlooks both the Mediterranean and the old town of Antibes. @maisondebacon

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc | I actually haven’t eaten here because it’s so expensive a point I just can’t justify. However, I do recommend the Grill Eden-Roc (which is the restaurant beside their beach club) between like 3-5PM for bottle of rose and snacks. Always remember; the more expensive the hotel the better the free bar snacks are. @hotelducapedenroc

Jeanne | Casual wine bar in the old town with incredible share plates and a very “cool” and extensive wine list. @jeanneantibes

Mamo Michelangelo | This is one of those restaurants that has a menu a little too long for my liking, and has a wall plastered with photos of celebrities that have visited over the years. That said - the food was great, it’s always super buzzy inside and it’s perfect for some prime people watching. @mamomichelangelo

La Guinguette Antibes | Cute restaurant in the old town with a courtyard out the back. @laguinguette.antibes

Honestly, there are so many good restaurants in Antibes, especially in and around the Marché Provencal - you truly can’t go wrong. There are cozy French bistros, cafés that only serve moules-frites or oysters, and endless places for a laid-back apéro. I also recommend eating at all of the beach clubs I mentioned above.

WHAT TO DO

Baie des Milliardaires | Literally named "Billionaires’ Bay" - this is a fairytale of a place to swim which you can access by foot or by boat. Note that it’s a bit of a rocky trek in, therefore dress appropriately.

Marché Provençal | Last time I was in Antibes, we rented a flat right above the market, which was heaven. You can find everything you need from sun-ripened produce and herbs to local cheeses, olives, and lavender honey. Do not miss out on the tomato’s and nectarines - they are an essential in the South of France.

The South of France is home to some of the most beautiful hotels in the world. It’s the mix of seaview luxury, perfectly curated beach clubs, and 5-star sanctuaries tucked away in lush, green hills, accompanied by the constant buzz of crickets (my favourite sound of summer). Here’s my edit of the best hotels the Côte d’Azur has to offer and even if you aren’t staying there, you must absolutely do yourself the favour and book a table for lunch.

Hotel Cap-Estel | This luxury hotel perched on a private peninsula at Èze-Bord-de-Mer is the ultimate definition of Riviera glam. It has two restaurants — one Michelin-starred and a more casual spot called Le Ficus, which I highly recommend for a late dinner. @capestel

The Maybourne Riviera | An exceptionally beautiful, modern hotel just outside Monaco with glittering views of the Mediterranean stretching all the way to Italy. Book lunch by the pool (it’s the best) — the service is smooth and unhurried, so you can soak up the sun and stretch your meal into the afternoon. It’s the kind of lunch that makes you want to cancel all your other plans (my best friend and I actually cancelled our flights). @themaybourneriviera

Grand-Hotel du Cap-Ferrat, A Four Seasons Hotel | My forever favourite hotel in the world. Their breakfast on the garden terrace is exquisite and the beach club, Club Dauphine is a fabulous spot for lunch and a day by the pool. You don’t have to be a hotel guest to book lunch at the club — just pack your bikini and jump in the sea afterward. @fscapferrat

Hotel du Couvent | A relatively new addition to Nice, this hidden gem in the Old Town (once a monastery) has been beautifully transformed into a space with that effortlessly cool, lived-in vibe you'd expect from Soho House. It’s perfect for a pre-dinner cocktail in the garden, where the ambiance is as good as their Negronis. @hotelducouvent

Hotel Le Roches Rouges | Part of the Beaumier Hotel group, this chic, minimalist hideaway is perched on the red-rock coast of Saint-Raphaël. There isn’t much to do nearby, but the hotel itself is dreamy — especially the saltwater pool. @lesrochesrouges

Château de Théoule | Haven’t been here yet, but recommended by a friend who visited this Summer! You can rent beach beds and enjoy lunch for the day, even if you’re not staying at the hotel. @chateaudetheoule

Château Saint-Martin | Another amazing 5-star spot tucked into the hills of Vence, with gorgeous views of the Med, great restaurants, and beautiful gardens to wander through. @chateaustmartin

Cap d’Antibes Beach Hotel | A sleek boutique hotel and beach club in Cap d’Antibes, famous for its pastel-pink beach club that you’ve probably seen before. Their restaurant BABA offers a swish Mediterranean menu, but my favourite time to go is golden hour for cocktails, when the sun melts into the same color as the sea. @capdantibesbeachhotel

Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc | Everyone knows about this one! @hotelducapedenroc

Château Berne | Another favourite of mine (I had one of the best dates of my life here) - Château Berne is a luxury hotel and vineyard nestled in the hills near the charming town of Lorgues. I recommend booking lunch on their terrace - the set menu is absolutely divine, especially paired with the rosé from their property. You can also visit their tasting room. @chateaudeberne

I have been visiting Saint Tropez every summer for many years, and it truly holds a permanent place in my heart. Yes, there’s the glitz and glam of the town lined with superyachts and designer boutiques—but for me, the real magic begins the moment you start the drive out of town through the winding roads of Ramatuelle, lined with pine trees and sun-drenched vineyards. There is absolutely nothing better then spending a full day at the beach with rosé piscine’s on repeat, the feeling when you put on your robe after that glorious pre-dinner shower, and stepping outside with a great outfit for your 10PM reservation.

I’ve done the lords work for you and am sharing everywhere you need to go and everywhere you need to know.

THE BEST BEACH CLUBS

First of all, no one does a beach club better than Saint Tropez - so much to the point that I’ve started referring to “beach club” as my favourite type of cuisine. A few important things to know:

• ALWAYS book the second lunch seating - never before 3PM

• Book everything well in advance (as early as February or March). You’ll need a reservation everywhere. I recommend asking your hotel to handle bookings, or if you’re in an Airbnb, use a concierge service (I think it was around 100 EUR per person - and worth every cent). They take care of everything.

• At each beach club you can book a sun bed, a table for lunch, or both. Sometimes I’ll book beds at one beach club and lunch at another - especially if you’re only there for a few days and want to try them all.

• To get to the beach, arrange a transfer or book an Uber (expect 20–50 EUR each way). You can also rent electric bikes from town - it takes about half an hour and is one of my favourite things to do. That said, it’s definitely an outfit-dependent activity.

LE CLUB 55 | If you’ve never been, you have to go at least once. It’s the OG of St Tropez beach clubs. The sun beds are casual, so bring your own towel (or buy one from the boutique for ~100 EUR). The menu is classic, simple, and delicious. No DJ, but a live band strolls around serenading tables - very old school glam.

LOULOU | Arguably one of the best beach clubs in Saint Tropez (in my opinion) which is why it’s become so hard to get a reservation now. I recommend to book both sun beds and lunch here (second seating of course). It’s tastefully decorated, it turns into a huge party and the truffle pizza is one of the best on earth.

GIGI | Gigi is much more than a beach club—it’s more of a full-fledged Mediterranean retreat hidden within the pine trees. You can rent beds by the pool or book lunch in their absolutely stunning restaurant. The menu is Italian (v. expensive, fair warning), but worth it for the interiors alone - designed by the genius Hugo Toro.

VERDE BEACH | Another runner-up fave. Always a reliably great party. One year, a huge rainstorm hit mid-lunch and it turned into one of the best days I’ve ever had in Saint Tropez. Skip the beds here, but don’t miss lunch.

INDIE BEACH | A staple on the girls’ trip itinerary every single year. Great beds, fab service, delicious menu. After the second lunch seating, they move the tables for the DJ to start—same for dinner in the evenings. Do both.

LA RESERVE A LA PLAGE | In my opinion, this is the most luxurious beach club - perfect for a day of pure relaxation. Beds are pricier, but worth it. The food is so good, and I’d actually skip the restaurant altogether and order lunch to your sun bed so you can keep lounging all day long.

RESTAURANT LES GRANIERS | A bit more casual and within walking distance of town - super charming. Fantastic seafood and you can book for lunch or dinner. Dining with your feet in the sand? Yes.

BEST BARS & RESTAURANTS

*Never book dinner before 9:30PM

LES MOULINS DE RAMATUELLE | One of my all-time favourites that I always book. Dinner under the pine trees, just outside of town. Alfresco perfection.

JAÏS RAMATUELLE | This just opened this Summer in the nearby hilltop village of Ramatuelle - I haven’t been yet but I’m absolutely dying to go - it’s on the top of my list for this year.

MATSUHISA AT CHÂTEAU DE MESSARDIÈRE | As much as I love an authentic local restaurant, I truly love a Matsuhisa (crispy rice & truffle salad forever). Chateau de Messardière is one of the most magical hotels in the area with a truly breathtaking view - I wouldn’t miss this one.

CHERRY | Sexy-sophisticated interiors and a lively vibe for dinner in the port. They also have a DJ most nights that starts late.

LE TIGRR | Average food but try to get a table for drinks as it has one of the best sunset views in town.

BEEFBAR LOU PINET | Can’t say I love all BeefBar locations but this one at Lou Pinet is fabulous and they a fantastic menu (especially the bar snacks section).

BOULANGERIE DE L’OLIVIER | The best hidden bakery in town.

LE CAFE | A buzzy brasserie with loud music and big tables that turns into a full-on party after dinner.

CHEZ MADELEINE | The best place in town for oysters. It’s tucked in a tiny corner with bar stools and a few tables near the fish market. I love going around 11AM when it’s full of handsome older men smoking cigars - or going for champagne and oysters before dinner with girlfriends.

HOTEL SUBE | A very old hotel in the port that has a terrace with only 6 small tables. If you can get one of these, it’s the best place to sit and have cocktails in the evening, or have coffee and watch the yachts come in first thing in the morning.

BARBARAC | Best gelato selection.

SENEQUIER | A Saint Tropez institution great for people watching.

I was lucky enough to spend a few weeks in Marseille last August and I will be the first to admit - I loved it so much more than I ever thought I would. Yes, it certainly is dodgy in some areas but the landscapes, the vibe and the food scene are incredible.

WHERE TO EAT & DRINK

Les Bords de Mer | Chic seaside restaurant which is great for lunch or dinner. Try to book a table on their rooftop! It’s more casual up there and they have great cocktails.

Petrin Couchette | The best sandwiches in Marseille. Whenever I go we buy every sandwich on the menu.

Tuba Club | One of my favourite spots in Marseille for a long lunch. I could sit here and drink a crisp white with endless fish carpaccios all day. Make sure you book this well in advance, don’t book the bar (the menu isn’t as good) and try to avoid driving because parking is very hard.

Poissonnerie Kennedy | New seafood restaurant with gorgeous interiors. They have amazing oysters, good wine and the menu is always changing with whatever is fresh.

Loulou Monsieur Glace | For ice cream and iced coffees.

Figure | A trendy wine bar a with amazing small dishes near Vauban. I had one of the best steak tartare’s in my life here and don’t skip the cheese plate.

Localino | One of the best italian spots (also in Vauban).

Sepia | A favourite of mine - great menu and beautiful terrace during the Summer.

Trattoria Cielo | Italian spot attached to the Jogging store on Rue Paradis, love the vibe here.

Livingston | On my list.

Epicerie L’IDEAL | Gourmet epicerie where you can buy high-quality groceries with a casual place to eat for Mediterranean-inspired dishes.

Chez Toto | Fabulous bistro.

WHERE TO SHOP

Jogging | Trendy concept store.

Lulli | My favourite boutique to buy clothes and jewelry.

By Marie | Another great ladies boutique on Rue Paradis. I love the brand Francoise and they carry it here!

WHAT TO DO

Boat | Rent a boat from Point Rouge and spend the day sailing in and out of the Calanques all the way to Cassis. I would recommend going early and also going with someone who actually knows what they’re doing as the water can get really choppy going in and out.

Hike the Calanques | As I mentioned above, the Calanques are one of the most beautiful parts of Marseille to see, especially in the Summer. You can access the trails from both Marseille and from Cassis and choose how hard of a route you want to take. Wear good footwear, pack lots of sunscreen and of course your bikini!
